Who We Are
The Assemblies of God was founded in 1914 in Hot Springs, Arkansas with 300 people at the founding convention. Today there are more than 69 million Assemblies of God members worldwide, making the Assemblies of God the world’s largest Pentecostal denomination.
This Church was started by Rev. Swarnaraj as a Independent Church and by God's will was handed over to Rev. S. A. Sundararaj in 1980. According to divine guidance Rev. S. A. Sundararaj joined this church with the Assemblies of God organization. He was sincerely and sacrificially serving in this church until 2017 January.
The church building was dedicated in March, 13 1988 and the extension was dedicated in January 21, 2012. By God's abundant grace this church has been growing in several aspects.
After Rev S. A. Sundararaj. had been promoted to God's glory, Rev. J. Stanley Manickaraj had been appointed as the Senior Pastor by the Organization.
The adjacent land has been purchased in 2018 for future extension.
The Vellore Assemblies of God is located at 2nd West Cross Rd, Suthanthira Ponvizha Nagar, Gandhinagar West, Vellore, Tamil Nadu 632006.

Salvation

Baptism
We believe that baptism is an important step of obedience for every person who has accepted Christ as his or her Savior. Repent and be baptized, every one of you, in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins. That no one can enter the Kingdom of God without being born of water and the Spirit.
Holy Spirit
According to Bible, Holy Spirit is a God's Gift as result of Salvation and Baptism. God poured out the Holy Spirit abundantly on us through Jesus Christ our Savior. Acts 1:8, But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.
